Took a look at the latest Zanussi Lindo machines. Not a fan of what I see. Nothing spectacular about their latest machines. These feature tiny wash paddles, small cabinets which mean they are not genuinely 'big' and the Flexi Dose detergent drawers which are tiny. That Aqua Fall System which doesn't work very well if one washes a duvet in their machine as powder gets on the front and water never actually touches that bit throught the whole cycle which means powder gets left (from experience when I had the Flexi Dose model). No mention of Jetsystem now. Also extremely sensitive to unbalanced loads, it was a joke, it wouldn't spin anything!!

I purchased a Jetsystem in 2012 which I can no longer see on the John Lewis web site. It didn't have the Spin Rinse system like older machines, had static fills and the spin is awfully high pitched with a screeching sound, like a cheap Indesit! It's louder on spin than the cheap Beko in my flat which is smooth in comparison to both the 2012 Jetsystem & 2011 Flexi Dose models. Though I'm pleased to report the Zanussi Jetsystem I'd still going strong.

They are no longer the Appliance Of Science. It's sad to see a brand deteriorate so quickly. I remember when they still had reasonably good quality machines out in 2007 or so. Makes me realise how good and advanced the AEG OKO Lavamat we got in 2002 was with its spin rinse and smoother running motor and mechanics, like how Zanussi used to be!! Electrolux have really changed a lot. It's not progress. I won't buy anymore of their products.

Totally agree with you regarding the latest Zanussi Machines. These Jetsystems were the best before they went downhill.

Electrolux re-arranged the positioning of their brands.

AEG - Top
Electrolux - Middle/Top sometimes.
Zanussi - Now a a middle to cheap brand.

If you want a higher tech machine from that company, don't get Zanussi. Get Electrolux or AEG instead.

Optima,

That machine is amazing. A typical Zanussi appliance of science. It reminds me of my AEG that I used to have and miss.

Please see the video of my 2002 AEG doing a Spin Rinse with a duvet in it. This machine lasted 9 years before it started to freeze and randomly jump and bang. I think it was the PCB. So someone took the machine and put in their own PCB in it. I hope its still in use today. I do miss it.

iej,

I'd rather buy another make. Its a shame but I won't buy an Electrolux product again.

Optima,

Here's a Spin Rinse video which was very unbalanced. Sometimes it should to scare the hell out of me when I used to hear crashing in the kitchen but it was great fun to watch LOL.

The Zanussi Jetsystem ZWH7122J that I purchased in 2012 had admittedly got better suspension on it, even though it has a bigger 7kg drum than the AEG (only slightly). The internals inside my AEG are probably the exact same as your Zanussi FJS1025W. Lovely machines. Heres a pic too :)

Ahhhhhh, Zanussi! My mother always had Zanussi machines, apart from a minor mid-90's hicup where she made a bad choice. She currently has a 2011 Jetsystem 1600. I have to say, it's a fab machine. Unlike AEG03's, it tumble fills, is quiet and not overly sensitive on spins.

It's such a shame that they've gone completely down the pan lately.

My Zanussi flexidose is pretty good in all fairness, I have never had the problems that AEG03 had though...

Pleased to hear Aegokocarat,

I may just have been unlucky but it put me off the brand for good. I did purchase a Jetsystem after selling the Flexi Dose and it was a breath of fresh air. It spun the loads without fussing, washed and rinses with plenty of water and sounded smoother when washing, ok the spin has a horrible high pitched screeching sound which is very unlike older Zanussi's but I put it down to the Welling motor they now use which is the same as used in the Indesits.

If I needed a budget machine again I might choose a Beko but never a Zanussi I'm afraid.

AquaCycle,

It's sad to see great brands go down the pan. But I guess it's a very comparative market so they have to produce machines as cheaply as possible which are not as durable and advanced as the previous generation.
