Condition is about as close to unused as you can get for one this old. GOD it's nice...I am trying very hard to keep myself from parting it out. I just need that motor SO badly for my KDS20....and if I was brave, I'd drill out the roof of my KDS20 and install that constant rinse :D There are 10 or 12 Pics starting at around #38 or so

How hard is the motor to take out? I have a KDI58 the motor could be taken out of.

It was not too bad at all...the whole assembly took me about 5 minutes to remove....mostly due to one hose clamp not wanting to let go!

Did you part the above unit out or would you like the motor out of mine?

While a K/A CUSTOM doesn't have the same provisions for washing heavily soiled dishes or pots and pans as the high-up models, nor have an adjustable top rack or heat its own water, w/ it being a Kitchen Aid, it's still a very highly, top quality machine!

Joshua--thanks for that very kind offer! I went ahead and pulled the assembly from the KDC-18. Have to double check a few wiring issues, but should be installed tonight or tomorrow. Hang on to your motor for awhile---I just may ask about it a little later one...you never know!

Dave--Have to admit, I had a very, very hard time making myself dismantle that machine--condition is just stellar...but I have 7 different KAs sitting here and only one will take the KD-18 motor. Because that motor is so close to new, I decided to use it in fully restoring the Superba 20 I have sitting here so that it will run longer than I will live to see! BTW, I've many sets of rack adjusters from my stash, so I think I'll convert those Custom 18 racks to at least have that feature, though the upper rack tines have to remain fixed style.
