I have an Kitchen Aid KDI 18 that I have performed several small repairs on to keep it going in the past. Recently the top spinner mount broke and I was wondering if anyone has a fix for this or a part that may be compatible to replace. The mount is simple with four plastic tabs that allow the spinner to lock into and free spin. Two of the tabs broke no longer allowing the spinner to snap into place. The mount itself is held to the top of the dishwasher with three nuts and is pretty basic with the only connection being a hose fed from the middle spray arm. Haven't really noticed a huge impact on cleaning performance but everything else works perfectly on it and would like to keep her going a 100% if possible. This forum has saved it twice already and any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not to worry!

I have a complete and basically unused set of all these parts for 18 series. I might be able to save you here...but give me a few days....have been hanging on to these things as there is a KDS18 I might be buying and will keep everything if I do the purchase. If not, then I've got all the plumbing, including what you're wanting, plus practically new racks, door liner, etc. Stay in touch in the coming days and I'll let you know more.

Replacement part!

Chad, here is a link to what replaced your original style constant rinse spinner. Most users broke them off by forcing the rack into the machine with too large an article in the middle of the upper rack.
The item you see is what HOBART replaced the original with and it probably works about the same at the original.

The asking price is a bit high but you can look around some more if you feel the need to and if Allen decides to keep the one he has. I just looked in my stash and found one that will fit the 16 and 17 series!

Thank you!

That replacement part looks like a much better design. Mine was broken off exactly how you described with somebody unfamiliar to loading the machine breaking it. It has come off in the past but never broke the tabs. It appears that the updated design uses a disc with a center post rather than the four clip spinner design. I think I will jump on that but please keep in touch Allen about your machine. I might be interested in that door liner and other parts. Thank you both for the quick response. I haven't been on in awhile and had to register for the site again but you have helped me both times in the past Steve. Thanks again.
