Oasis users, how are they working? I'm interested in the non-agitator style.

I want to know too, I'm planning to buy a set late this summer!
I will keep my Electronic 90 Series since the are the last units that offers total control panel lights.

A visit to my local Sears store today was my first exposure to the Oasis line of machines. Questioning the saleslady who came over did not shed much light on the technical aspects of the things---as expected.

When viewing the non-agitator machine I asked if the disc turned in one direction for a bit, pause, then reverse directions. "Oh no" she said----"the reps. told us it only turned in one direction". I then commented that if it did turn in only one direction, it must turn rather slowly to keep from causing damage to the fabrics being washed. "Yeah you are right" she said. Oh well, I'll have to wait for Jasonl to work some of his photographic magic.

The agitator type was not exactly what I expected. The fins seemed too limber to give strong water currents----event at a fast speed. Anyone got any ideas on that? When I commented about the lack of a window in the lid of the agitator type, the saleslady mumbled something about that being the gimmick used to bump people up to the non-agitator type.

The tub and suspension system seemed just like the F&P so maybe that is the connection for the high speed spin feature.

Can't wait to hear some REAL feedback from "our crowd"!

Oasis Adds

I posted this earlier today, but there is a new and different tv ad for the Oasis. Look for it. I saw it on Foodnetwork which is where I saw the first one.

The commercial I saw had a 2 second shot of it going. Looked to me like an F&P on gentle speed. If this was designed by F&P, it's probably going to go back and forth quickly. Looks like lots of fun.

Got my Oasis w/d Thursday

I had ordered an Oasis W/D March 18 and they arrived March 30. I got the Canyons but got #27062 washer which does not have the window and the #67082 dryer which does have the window. So far I'm happy with the cleaning quality but I thought the ones that I had seen had actual buttons to adjust the spin speed etc. and what I got has the plastic cover over a button type. I had those on my last machines and they end up cracking and falling off. These machines do sound different. I paid $900 each for them on sale and am getting 10% cash rebate back so that will help. They were supposed to have 20% rebate today but the flyer I got on Thursday has 'Super Saturday Sale' for the page heading on the back page and then the add says the 20% is only good thru 3/31/2006 ? Makes no sense to me.
