How hard is it to replace the glow plug in a Maytag gas dryer? It's a semi-commercial model in a common laundry room. I'm almost tempted to do it myself rather than call in a pro if it's relatively easy. (I suppose I really should have taken a photo and at least looked at the model #...)

It really isn't that scary to do. The biggest thing is to avoid banging the igniter as it can be easily damaged without much effort. Post a pic or two and a model and we can guide you thru this relatively painless repair...

I just did one in a 70's vintage whirlpool dryer. Easy as turning 1 or 2 screws and a connector or 2 wirenuts. Usually the hardest part is getting access panels off.

When you get the new one, do not touch the element at all. Skin oils can cause early failure. Handle it by the white part(insulator) only.
