Nice!! I almost got one of these. Sears had a free installation promotion for them. I decided to save a little money though and bought a Frigidaire. Love it so far…very quiet and cleans great.

The friends that have this dishwasher replaced a 2 year old Danby that went up in smoke...literally...smoke was coming from the controls and under at the motor. I told them stay away from those Chinese built dishwashers or you will have the same problem again. I was steering them to a Miele 18 incher but they couldnt justify the $1600 price tag...I can understand that. So the Bosch was on sale at Lowes and it was a special order. I installed it, which I might add, was very easy. I couldnt install the dishwasher all the way into the cabinet since the drain pipe from the sink rides against the wall and takes up some space bhind the dishwasher.

Its very interesting to listen to when its running. It sound like a normal dishwasher in the beginning, then after a few mins it quiets down quite a bit to almost silent. The wash pump speed is variable and the dishwasher also alternates the wash arms as well. Performance is very impressive and the racks are much more thought out and they can fit more into the dishwasher than the Danby.

Looks very similar to mine other than the width. I wouldn't tend to install a slimline dishwasher unless I were really stuck for space though.

Here in Ireland you actually pay a premium for the small size, possibly because they're a smaller production run.

In general I find BSH make excellent dishwashers. The only slight gripe I have is some of them had a poor drying performance although I think that's been resolved in the current line up.

All of BSHs high end dishwashers are nearly silent in operation. It's been a key selling point for years for Bosch, Siemens and Neff (the 3 BSH brands)

Well in the manual for this machine, it makes it abundantly clear that one has to use rinse aid or things will not dry properly. It still uses the walls to condense the water in the air after the final rinse. What was odd was the fact that this dishwasher didnt come with insulation pads covering the top and back of the unit. It does have the cabinet panels like any German built dishwasher but on the sides. For an 18 incher, it has quite a bit of space and this one also has that top spinner to shower the top rack. They dont have the issue like the last dishwasher had, with food bits on top of the load. Filling is also done by a pressure/ motor sensor so water levels are always at optimum. The other dishwasher used to underfill and they would have to add water to stop cavatation in the pump or the load would not get clean. They also had issues with detergent tabs not dissolving in the Danby and they switched to powder after I told them that would be he best bet, yet they had issues with dirt on the door.
Build quality is much better with the Bosch machine compared to the Danby.
