Oh Bethann, those are so gorgeous! They would match your kitchen---especially the refrigerator! I am now using a '56 Unimatic Washer just like that one (but not pink) and just love it!! It is awesome!!!! (It is on loan from another club member) I am constantly on the hunt for one of my own. Thanks for sharing the web-site! --Steve

Go for it, bethann! If they sic The Man on you, one of us will hide you (and that gorgeous laundry pair) until the heat blows over. :)

Idea!

Does anyone have a Appliance Repair uniform? I'll put my hair up under a hat ware a toolbelt and say they really need to go to the shop! Hell, I'd even go as far as putting the logo on the truck!!!!!!

This particular set was the first GM Frigidaire set I ever saw when I searched on the internet for classic appliances. This was just before I found Jeff Lefever's first Yahoo group. I'll never forget this set, it marked the beginning of finding other appliances enthousiasts.

Me too Louis- they've been on their website for some time now and I remember finding them on a search of the internet. How far we've come, many beautiful appliances in our collections and so many great collectors to share them with!

Now, Bethann, Topeka isn't that far from me - a few hours drive, less if you're being chased at high speeds so you're welcome to stop here on your escape route. We'll give them a going over and make sure they're "washworthy" for all the prison laundry you'll be forced to do! ;-)

I like the idea of the appliance repair uniform. But to be on the safe side you may want to concoct some story that you are bringing in a loaner set while the Frigidaire set is being worked on. The loaner set of course would be something that you picked up from the curb and spray painted beforehand.

Does Krylon make "First Lady Pink"?

hahaha....if Lucy and Ethyl could steal John Wayne's footprints, they certainly can lift that beautiful Frigidaire set!!! And I remember another I Love Lucy story line when Ricky thought she was a kleptomaniac and she pretended that she stole a baby elephant from Ringling Brother's circus.

My aunt had that same dryer in pink. When she finally got a new set of Maytags,(608's I think),my uncle, who delivered appliances for a local store, found the matching washer as a trade in,and gave them to my dad to sell. That had to be 20 years ago.

Bethann,I've got some old Frigidaire patches,if you've got a uniform shirt to sew 'em on......

Bethann, you had me goin' for a bit, thinking you'd found a pink set, until I opened the link. At first I hoped they were on ebay for sale. Then I saw what it was. I knew about this set, from internet searches on Frigidaire, long b4 I joined this club in 1999 or 2000. This was one of the year models I'd never seen b4, along with the 1958. Bob
