to express my most sincere and warmest thanks to three great guys--Roger, Ross and Nate for a most wonderful weekend. Your three went totally out of your way to host a fabulous wash-in for us all. Your machines are out of sight--Roger, your Blackstone kicks butt, and Ross, I wanted to load your Kenmore bolt down into my truck and disappear into the Tucson starry night! ((--::

I also want to give special note to Terri (a real nice guy to talk with) and Steve who both did a fantastic job keeping us all filled with delicious food and drinks. You guys were super.

Yes, I took a lot of pix but in a stop along the way coming back to Palm Springs yesterday I left my camera at a friend's house. I will be posting pix as soon as I get the camera back but in the meantime, I'm sure that another member in attendance will be posting some as cameras and video recorders were in abundance. ((--::

Thanks again you three for a weeekend I won't forget and the chance to get together with other great members like Venus and Austin to mention only a few.

Dick_S.

It was our pleasure to host such a wonderful group of people, and it was great to get to talk with you about the art (and horror) of working on the Kenmores and Westinghouse.

And yes, profound thanks to Terry and Steve for the fabulous delectables! :-D

We'll be looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Nate, Roger, and Ross

Hi Dick. Was great to see you again. I am glad that you enjoyed yourself at "Tucson 2006". We will all look forward to seeing you at "Tucson 2007" and I will see you later this year in Palm Springs.

Ross

Hi Dick,

It was great meeting you and "talking Kenmore" during the Tucson wash-in! Will definitely continue to keep an eye out on Craigslist for anything good...perhaps a '58 Lady Kenmore dryer will surface in the future!

Thanks Dick! What a great event, and wonderful meeting you. May I call you Chris? :-)

I must thank Terry who was a pleasure and a joy to behold and to chat with, as we have come to expect. What a man! With Terry as my co-pilot, and his guidance and expertise, that kitchen was running like a well-lubed....er...uh... engine.I can't wait to work with Terry again in what ended up being a symphony of gears and parts that together functioned as a good Swiss watch!

Again, an unforgettable event, and the love and comraderie could be felt by all!

hope to see you soon!

Dick it was great to meet you as well. I believe you were the first to arrive at Roger's on Friday. Hard to believe it is already a week ago. We did have a great time. Thanks to everyone for such a great time. Anything that Steve or I were able to do was a labor of love! Roger, Nate, and Ross are the real stars here for all the planning and work they did to make this event such a success. Terry

A few more pix.....

from a warm wonderful weekend with you all! ((--:: I also can't believe it was a week ago already. I'm ready to go back.

And to think on that weekend I would have a surprise get together with a former roommate in northern California from 35 plus years ago--each of us having no idea at all that we both shared a love for old washers. Well, that beats all.

I'm out the door to spend the weekend with Chris in Long Beach but thought I'd get these pix up first so everyone could take a gander at them.

Thinking of you all with warmest memories

Dick

I took about 45 minutes of video and as soon as I learn how to post it to the web I will certainly do so--but don't anyone hold their breath in the meantime! ((--::

I have found that to post vidoes with my camera's resolution I must limit segments to 50 seconds in length.

Kenmore bolt-down

Excellent videos of the wash-in, although I wasn't able to see all of them (when I got down to the GE ones, they wouldn't work). As for the bolt down, I've never seen of heard of a bolt down except for Bendix FL's. I'd like to know much more about these washers--they look like wringers without the wringers. Are they fully-automatic or semi?

Dick it was so great to meet you. I've been reliving "a week ago" since yesterday when Nate & Will met me at the airport. I"m enjoying the memories, but sad too. I miss it so.

And what was just as exciting was you solving another washer year mystery from my childhood with your 1960 Kenmore.

The one downside is typical, I go through sensory and washer overload. I just don't know where to go and get involved, soo many at Ross' house. Just kept going back & forth between machines.
