I just acquired a Maytag wringer washer, don't know how to find the series but the serial number is 34494XX. It is an electric washer with a square tub. I have attached pictures of the part I need. It is the bracket that holds up the top wringer. One end is broken. I also need another screw to hold it in place. Thanks in advance for any help and also maybe where to find parts
Linda

Is the lid on the machine hinged or is the cover completely removable? Is the agitator blue or black? There is a parts place in Ohio that specializes in these. They are still very popular out there with the Amish population. I've lost the name and number, however call Lehmans and explain you need a part and know they can recommend a place. It's not far down the road from them.

Look up MAYTAG WRINGER WASHER

on EBay. There's a set listed for $21.50 including hardware. The guy selling them is named Phil from Ovid N.Y. He's a GREAT resource for old Maytag wringer washer parts.

You're washer is the Maytag E2L. E2LP if it has the pump. That was the top of the line Maytag wringer. Mine also has the raised M A Y T A G lettering. These were produced from late 1959 to end of 1965.

Old-style bearing hangers

were replaced by Maytag in later years with a white plastic (nylon) type. They appear on ebay frequently - I've included the link to a current auction that Larry just mentioned in the previous message (Phil in N.Y. - "cayuga2").

It appears that the part number remained unchanged (# A4326). Check with Phil or Lehman's, but I imagine it will be difficult to find the old version.

Also, here's a link to a past discussion of the same topic ... www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/T...
