while browsing Google images i came across this - an Antonio Merloni Hoover, this surprised me as i never knew they made machines for hoover, any hoover experts know about these machines and how they came to be?
There's at last two of them - WA420 and WD1100 both the same machine except WD1100 has an extra dial as its a Washer Dryer |

Not for the Australian market AFAIK.
After production ended here in the late 90's, they imported the New Wave 1200F and an 800F. The 800F was a rebadged Beko.
All other machines have been Candy based. CLICK HERE TO GO TO ronhic's LINK on eBay |

Exactly Rohinic, Thats why I wrote Non EU, UK & AUS Markets. Meaning Not made for those markets. They all ready have Hoover made products. It was the smaller markets that took the branded antonio merloni. IE Lebanon |

Didnt Zanussi also make fridges for Hoover prior to the Candy buy out? |

They certainly did, in fact Zanussi manufactured Hoover refrigeration products right from when they were launched in the mid 1960s. I don't know exactly when Hoover dropped refrigeration products, they were certainly included in the 1983 product line up.
The first Hoover dishwashers, AutoJet and SuperJet were also manufactured by Zanussi Al |

They were lousy machines from a wash performance point of view because of the way the lifters/drum baffles worked. The clothes tended to just bounce up and down in the water instead of washing unless the machine was very heavily loaded. |
