Did you do a search here?  There are two or three active discussions about coffee and brewing methods.

Keurig 2.0

chachp's profile picture

A number of people here have purchased the Keurig 2.0 and seem to be happy with it.  Some not so much I think it's a personal preference.

I bought one not to be my primary coffeemaker but to use when I wanted a single cup.  There are so many flavor options with the Keurig.  I guess that's true for other machines too but this one seems to be the one where you have the best selection of K Cups and options for making a carafe.

It meets my needs but I have never used the carafe option.

theres a new invention that just came out, its a Keurig brewer, and its uses these neat little K-cups......several months ago they added a carafe option.....you would have thought they would have advertised a big promotional on something like this....has anyone else heard of these brewers?....time will tell of what everyone thinks of the newest trick to making coffee....

Keurig Vue ---- FLOP

Good Point!  Maybe they spent all their advertising dollars on the Keurig Vue.  I think that was a real flop.  They should have stuck with a sure thing - K Cups.

At least he was honest...

... in saying that "if being able to use a tremendous variety of different coffees is important, the Keurig 2.0 is probably not for you".

I suspect there'll be an initial flurry of sales that will drop off as people realize that they can't simply use whatever K-Cup catches their eye.

Yes, I admit the carafe option is cool, but aside from that I really don't see how it is an improvement over the previous versions. Personally, this seems overly complicated and is perilously close to making morning coffee an Event, complete with Capital Letters. I've had far too many Events in my life of late and right now, the fewer Events, the better.

I can't function until my coffee has kicked in. I'll stick with my Hamilton Beach Scoop for mornig coffee as there's no thought required. When I've settled in and evening (or morning ) guests are a realistic possibility I'll buy myself a large French press and a vacuum pot.

Keurig Vue??? I missed that completely, lol.

Jim

Well I think the whole appeal with Vue was supposed to be that it brewed hotter coffee than previous models and I guess gave many more options for other types of coffee drinks.  I remember seeing a couple of infomercials on them.  I never used one but I think what hurt them was they redesigned the KCups all together and it seems like the new version just didn't catch on.  One would have to abandon any thing they had for storing the origianl KCups I think which could also have been a problem because the new ones weren't perfectly round anymore.  They had this protuding channel thing on the side.

I never saw them in the grocery store or places where they had a large selection of KCups.  It seemed you had to go to some kind of specialty store or buy them on line.  I think I remember seeing them in Kohls's too.  Just seems like they didn't catch on for these and probably other reasons.

I have the HB model you claim as "a mistake" . I like it a lot. I'm an early riser and have a LOUD coffee grinder that wakes the dead. So,having the French roast 8 0 Clock Kcups, I make one for myself and, once Jim is up, I make a 12C pot of fresh ground. Works great. No problem. You just have to be sure you have the coffee pot in place or else the water and coffee grinds can overflow and make a mess.

Avoiding the Event:

Is one of the reasons I'm so fond of my Farberware Superfast 12-cup perc, and the timed outlet on my vintage GE range.

I get up, coffee's ready, end of Event.

A couple of cups get consumed during the morning, to get me awake, and the rest goes into a high-quality stainless Thermos, which goes to work with me, making it easier to cope with other Events.
