with the  Canadians ! We did poppy 1-18 laundry and 1955 Ge combo laundry and 1956 Bendix laundry.

Repaired my 1948 Oster blender and took them to Kelly's for a lobster roll.

Somebody got a vintage Radarange who shall remain anonymous for now. It weighs a ton and runs on 990V DC  !

Somebody else got a MINT vintage KA 14 portable .

And Phil won a turntable at my raffle!!

That's an easy choice Martin. You can take the KA, and I'll snag the 6300. ;)

While you two are fighting over the Marantz, I think I'll go for that two-ton electronic oven!

What a fun visit, with awesome parting gifts.  And to think I wasted $2 on a Powerball when there's a raffle with much better odds in Melrose.

Yes, give us some story on the Radarange, Cory!

there's still some surprises for Ben & Cory when they get here to take home "Two Ton Tessie"!

She's unusually clean inside >>>> Look at the size of those components under her skirt !!

Thermal cut offs on the cooling circuit!! Dual stacked water cooled transformers under that HIGH VOLTAGE label weighing in at 1 ton each.

Its really cool to see the inside of the Microwave oven.  You don't see hearty components like that anymore.  I didn't see anything that looked frayed  like I would expect to see in a machine that age.

I can't thank Jon, Phil and Paul enough for snagging this Radarange for me. While not exactly in Jon's backyard, it was a heckuva lot closer than Iowa!

This machine is pre-Amana acquisition and is a commercial model Mark V. From what I can tell it's dual magnetron but lacks a broiler element. It's also the first one I've ever seen that has an original looking painted front; most were stainless. The guys found a date code of Jan 1963 and this would use Raytheon's new QK707 liquid-cooled magnetron rated at 800 Watts output. I can only imagine the cooking speed of firing up both! -C

A good time was had by all!

Jon, it was a real blast (as always) to get to hang out with you and eat you out of house and home... LOL   Seriously it was great to play with the washers and thank you for your help getting the KA on the last leg of its journey.    Phil is probably still sore from all that driving - at least it didn't snow...

Cory, be darned careful when you lift that Radarange.  It's made of solid neutronium, I think!

I'll be posting about the KA dishwasher shortly and about a raffle prize I got from Jon too (which I left part of in Phil's truck .... D'OH!)

That Radarange is super cool, it looks like a reactor with the cooling towers and plumbing.  220v 20 amp?

OH I'd say

Its humongous and we found the original uranium nugget still glowing inside that they used to generate the 'waves too !

That MW is the first I've seen like that - the components remind me of some of the props used in old Sci-Fi movies or shows, they're huge.

PhilR - nice prize!!!!

Cold weather but the sunshine makes it look easier to handle, always. Fun times were had by all, I see.

I completely missed this thread! I guess I was too busy with my new toys from Jon and Greg!! The very nice Panasonic blender is from Greg! Something I wanted for a while!!

I bought some Advent speakers similar to those Jon has. They're a bit newer but that's OK, they're "period correct" to match with the receiver and turntable which happen to be my age, 1977 models! The large ones sound very nice.

I just had to replace a few lights and caps in the receiver.  The lights aren't correct (12 volts too dim) but I ordered a new set of 200 MA 8 volts as I could only 250 MA 8 volts locally and these are apparently too hot (I saw one of Jon's posts about that on Audiokarma!).

I have looked at leds, I almost ordered a set, probably will eventually! How many leds are in each of yours? 2, 3 or 6?

Phil if I remember

jetcone's profile picture

correctly, theres 5 in my 2275 and 6 in the 2325.

I had to get a whole new lamp buss for the 2325 as the original lights melted old buss. Thats a messy job because you have to work around all the dial structure if you don't want to be disassembling it.

I meant how many LEDs in each bulb!  Many on eBay have 3 or 6 inside them.
