We Have A Whirlpool Direct Drive Washer Machine Model # LA5558XTW0 And I Can Not Figure Out The Problem With This Washer On Spin Cycle It Shakes And Vibrates A lot And Moves To The Left Side It Sits On A Cement Drain Pan With Wood Covering It To Help Balance Washer Any Suggestions Would Be Helpful In Fixing This Washer You Can Email Me @ mmichael11438@yahoo.com Or Call Me @ 724-506-0344 And Ask For Mark M

For the direct drive, check the 3 horizontal tub suspension springs and the one vertical spring in the back. It's common for the lower mounting hole for the vertical spring to rust out and release the spring. Just drill a new hole if that is what has happened. If they check ok, then you may need to replace the 6 suspension pads. Three on the suspension plate (skate plate) and three on the base assembly. You also need to check the metal surfaces that move around on these pads. They can get gummed up preventing the tub support and suspension plate from moving around freely as they should. Here's the link for your parts manual. See page 13 for the suspension parts diagram.
