I replaced the struts in my Neptune a few weeks ago and still no improvement on the out of balance issue. I took a video of what it does during the spin cycle today and would like to know what you guys think is the problem. All that was in the washer was a few sheets and towels.

It went out of balance repeatedly even after I took all the clothes out and re loaded the washer. It's final attempt had it jumping across the floor so I decided to just wring out the load by hand. If I can't figure this out soon I will need to buy a new washer since I cannot put up with this any longer. Very frustrating.

If you turn the tub manualy without any load in it, is there a sloshing sound?

Yes

The balance ring still has its liquid.

willing to bet one of the bolts has snapped off, or come loose that hold the tub to the spider.....

there are 6 baffles in the tub......the three along the back have to come out to see the nuts, some have a Phillip's head, others have a hex head screw.....there should be two for each baffle, remove and check to make sure all three nuts are tightened down...

let us know how you make out....

I will take a look at that

But wouldn't the inner tub move around a bit if it was loose? If I move the tub by hand it spins in a perfect circle, even when there are wet clothes in it. I'm pretty sure the problem is coming from something in the suspension, because the outer tub is the part that wont stay still during the spin cycle.

It just seems to wanna rock back and forth to the point that it hits the cabinet. Something definitely seems loose in the suspension, but I can't see it being the springs. I will definitely take a look at the bolts for the spider but something tells me that's not it.

this is puzzling......

what about also the 3 switches that tell the computer its balanced, technically when it starts to shake like that, one of the switches would be touching the cabinet detecting an out of balance condition, and slow the machine down to redistribute the load until it balances, and then try it again...

I think the top one is a mercury switch, then there should be a push in type/trigger switch on the right side, and one on the bottom....

may sound stupid, but is that harness plugged in......

at this point were looking for anything odd....

Everything is plugged in

I know the washer detects that the load is out of balance. It tries to balance the load several times before the spin cycle, but eventually has to attempt to spin even if the outer tub jumps around like crazy.

Usually it is never able to spin before the final rinse because it only tries to balance the load twice and if it doesn't work it will just continue rinsing with no spin, resulting in poor rinsing. I have never had it shut off when it starts spinning to re-balance, usually I just hear it across the house and run to turn it off before it explodes...LOL

I had a similar prob with my neptune. I took the front cover off and found both tub displacement switches. I depressed them both fully in and let them pop back out several times. I noticed one was kind of hanging up on it'sit's way back out.
Seemed to clear out whatever error was there as the machiene started working normally again.
