These are made by Alliance, same as Speed Queen, they're popular over here, these monels comes both coin-op and not, Uni mac is one of the commercial machines divisions.

alliance

Obviously both this and speed queen produced by Alliance, but is one considered superior or more durable than the other?

As far as I know, they've a different agitator than the domestic, and small lid, similar to the old style amana, and IIRC differ in a few more things made out of metal instead of plastic, supposedly more durable, even though speed queen claims they make domestic models the exact same as commercial..I believe they do give a little more regard to commercial models.

with that small lid, its more closer to this style.....and it may be a stainless or porcelain tub.....the agitator may be a solid wavy vane, not flex vane, or may be a straight four vane, all depends on when it was built.....

chances are this could be in the middle of the Raytheon/Alliance change over...

besides, if it was Alliance, there would be no difference of what you found in a Laundromat/Commercial machine versus a residential machine.....underneath, it would all be the same....

the only difference, a fabric softener dispenser....for 6.00, you can pop one on a commercial machine....
