MieleUSA has new dishwashers launching this next quarter from what I've heard (From our rep)... LOVE the vid though!

*edit* but by new, I'm wondering if that means they are going to bring the G6000 series to America finally?

I could only hope Miele would bring a free-standing dishwasher like the G 6512 SC over here. It would solve so many problems. For me at least lol.

Logixx,

There has been so much exposure for the knock to open units between emails I get from Miele and facebook posts over the last year I didn't even think about that being the new launch lol..

I would love to have the unit in the video though. That looks like it'd be a great machine.

Technically, these units haven't changed too much from the previous generation. I played with the new models at last year's IFA and they are very nice. Miele once again tweaked the wash and esp. final rinse temp to get better efficiency ratings - though that might not affect the US models.

Do you have any info whether Miele will eventually bring the 2013 washers and dryers to the US?

As for the video: visually nice... but putting something dirty in there and having it miraculously emerge clean doesn't really prove anything.

The 6000 series isn't all good, I've had the G2220 SCi XXL and have the G5xxx SCU XXL and the G5xxx SCU XXL was a huge leap in features and rack options, even if it was $700 more than the G2220. The Racks in the G5xxx SCU XXL are almost the same as the Racks in the TOL G2xxx series.

I had a look at the G6XXX SCU XXL recently and it only has the entry level racking that comes in the base model, but it costs the same as the G5xxx SCUXXL, so very not happy.

On the plus side, after 3 years, all of the racks on my G5xxx had severe rusting. After discussions with the Miele customer advocate, I now have a full set of racks out of the G6xxx TOL Miele. As usual they stood behind their product and sorted things out.

In the Hall of the Mountain King is good music to make the video more dramatic. Unless the boots were loaded properly, they would collect water and hinder washing action.

I like the rainbow cake. WP used to test their real dishwashers on Super Scour with a Burger King Whopper, in the paper and they ate the entire thing.

Thought about the wrongly loaded boots as well. But Mieles load sensing is designed to recognize the drop in the water level and to add more water accordingly. This is good if for example a plastic bowl tips over and collects water.

Askomiele, back in Europe I used the same(most probably, mine had the semi-electronic control) dishwasher for approximately a year; highly doubt the plate would have stayed horizontal *LOL*. It was such a powerful machine, any glasses, bowls(unless heavy pyrex glass), or even lighter pots and pans were flying all around inside. Plate? Forget about it.
