Does anyone know the approximate shipping weight of a KDS-58?  I am looking at quotes to have one shipped but can't seem to find this in the docs I have.

Jackie is not available to help with this one :( so I want to see about a quote from uship.

Thanks,  Ralph

I would guess at approx. 125 lbs.

But not more than that. I used to be able to lift one on to the tailgate of my truck.

As you know, there is an awful lot of steel on these Well Built Older Babies.

You were close toploader55, VERY close if it were a KDS-18.

Included with the KitchenAid 18 Series Owners Manual I purchased was a chart entitled "Top of the Line Dishwasher Comparison (Based on Information Available 5/1/79)". The last row of that chart is the "approximate net weights (lb) (No Panels)" of the dishwashers compared, and the KDS-18 weighs in at 123 lbs, with the comment "HEAVIEST IN INDUSTRY". The butcher block top of the 58 would add some weight to that number though.

Weight of the Convertable KDS-58

Would be at least 150 and maybe 175 pounds, the heavy top, wheels, complete cabinet, extra frame steel, cord and cord reel, hoses, handle to move it and the larger HD door springs add a lot of weight.

I'll put down 150 and see what happens.
