I was just looking at this exact model/color. I'm looking at going HE and have been doing research. I currently have a GE set, which is still fairly new and fine, but wanting to upgrade. I really like the looks of this one and the Whirlpool version has great ratings. I'm only replacing the washer right now and I like that it's a new model so in a year or so I can still get a matching dryer.
Best of luck and look forward to seeing updates! |

I was just thinking about your dosing amount with the Persil, I would reduce it some if your water is really soft. There is a tipping point I find with the stuff, if one adds a touch more of the stuff it will suds up. I find with my LG washer that line one is plenty for most loads and my water is medium hardness. I wouldn't give up on the stuff just yet.

I know with my LG frontloader that the TurboWash will kick up some suds and then the spray kinda peters out some. It does the same with Tide Turbo Powder too I find. But like I said you may need less than what your dosing since your water is already soft.
Nice machines by the way. I too kicked my SQ washer to the curb after 6 years. |

Those are gorgeous machines. I really like the new styling of this design, aside from the change in light color on the Maytags (I love the amber colored lights on everything before they switched to white). I was literally a breath away from going with the new Cabrio design, because the Maytag version had just launched the day before I made the decision on the replacement machine. That capacitive touch panel gives me the vapors. *fans self*
I do feel that while I'm not crazy about the addition of a "gearbox" to the BPM motor drive, it does alleviate the issues that can come about with the floating basket system, and paired with the tamed spin speeds in these new machines, they should be pretty durable. I'm glad to hear that it is quiet and has performed well so far. You'll find with these machines that you'll take forever to get through a bottle or box of detergent. I've learned that a typical load of laundry needs about 1/3 of what I would put in a traditional TL, and 1/2 of what the detergent packaging instructs. Just experiment until you find that happy medium, and you'll have beautiful, fresh smelling laundry, with just a touch of suds to know that there is indeed something in the water, with no issues with rinsing at all. Fabric softener is in that same guideline. I don't use much FS at all to begin with, but a full load only gets enough softener to coat the bottom of the measuring cap. The clothes will have just a hint of the scent, there will be no slimy residue on them OR your machine, and you shouldn't have a need for dryer sheets at all. On a related note of general advice if you don't mind (this is for anyone), I found during the winter months that when I did in fact need a little static management, cutting dryer sheets into 1/3s was perfect. No stickiness to coat the filter or moisture sensors, and no overwhelming fragrance! Just clean, soft, static free laundry. I don't know why they can't come in that size when you buy them!! |

They must have made a lot of improvements over the past few years with HE TL washers.....When they first came out around the time FL washers started becoming popular, people HATED them....Now, they have deep fills and sprays and everything..I think the earlier models would not do a deep fill at all, but I could be wrong.

Your washer is one of the machines I'm researching for a new...I've found the full model number so now all I need is to see the Triple-Action Impeller in action. |
