Browsing through a few "recommended" videos on YouTube, I came across this video demonstration of LG's top loading HE washers. Don't know why I clicked on it, but I immediately noticed something very wrong within the first few seconds of the video.
Points awarded to anyone who can catch it. *it may help to expand the video to fullscreen. | ||

Spiraclean hit it right on the head. Although all the other things pointed out are just as annoying haha.
Why does that dryer have a dent beside the steam compartment?? And why does it look like it was dropped off a truck and the top is not even halfway fastened down? I sold truckloads of these models during my time at HD, and not one model has anything that looks like a dent where that one is. Things like this are a head scratcher for a multi-billion dollar company trying to promote their product. | ||

I used to always notice as a child that when the packaging of a game or toy showed people playing with it, the toy or game was often subtly different. For instance i think the game Battleship showed the people on the cover of the box playing..but they had an extra ship type, (think submarine aircraft carrier etc.) not included with the regular set! Or game pieces would be in brighter hues etc. No doubt the photographers doing. Okay, that bit of trauma is now released, back to your regularly scheduled program. | ||

I'm glad I can come here and talk with everyone about these things and not seem crazy. I showed my friend and she didn't understand at all haha.
I assume the placement of the machines has to do with the whole "read left to right" mentality that is engrained in most people. Washing is always done before drying, so naturally it's aesthetically pleasing to see them displayed in that order. You see that more often than not in store displays and in marketing. I myself actually prefer the washer on the right, probably because I have always loved my aunt Robin's laundry room and how it is set up. When we chose the blueprints for our house two years ago, they were configured that way, but when built they were swapped. Not a big deal though. When/if we decide to move or build again, it's on the list of preferences and I'll know next time to make sure before it's set in stone. | ||
