I actually do like the way these new duets perform. I have the updated model with the newer knob styles. These things do make some cool sounds! |

Your guys are Horn Dogs! LOL! When I said she really "works them" I was not talking about the W/D. I actually laughed at the beginning for 15 minutes last night. I wondered if she practiced! B |

Her Dryer review is a little bit more informative.

Yes, had to replace the door latch unit but the washer is working just fine. Running through a Citric acid soak now to clean it out, then I can start to play.

Was also wondering if she wasn't more prone to demonstrating her cleavage rather than the washer. I think she was trying to have the Kim Kardashian thing going. That combined with the voice......ick. |

Just started on the dryer late last night, as expected, it was packed in tight with lint. Obviously a bad vent as both the washer and dryer were pretty clean overall. The pump tray had a dime, a penny and a small unicorn sticker and nothing else. No goo or bio-hazard build up at all. There was some evidence of oversudsing dribble from the washer vent on the back and down the cabinet, but not much.
I used the long soak cycle (35 min) and added more hot water with a hose up to the glass. I used two affresh tablets, then ran a double Skin Care rinse & spin. Fresh as a daisy now, but it wasn't stinky or moldy to begin with. I'll probably run another rinse routine with a cup of bleach before washing in, mostly for psychological reassurance :-)

Although I would love that washer. Speaking of Duet Dryer Lint - YES!!! after a few years I took the bottom front panel off the dryer just because I was curious and I couldn't believe the amount of lint. I vacuumed for an hour and it's hard to get in places so I used my Rainbow vacuum to blow out hard to reach areas. AS I was doing this I was thinking I'm probably one of a very few people who would do this.
It just seems weird that the lint can get into all these areas that it shouldn't really be getting to. |

Lint accumulation inside the dryer's cabinet is not related to the filter, it's related to how well the various parts are joined and sealed together. My SmartLoad had a bit of stray lint accumulation in the cabinet after 10 years of use but it wasn't as much as I expected. I added some foil duct tape to a couple interior connection joints when I reassembled it so will be interesting to see what's the effect the next time I need to open it up. |

That is a great idea Glen! Although I love this dryer and the "low flow" air design....It does get clogged up with lint over time. B |

The exhaust vent tube and fan duct are all painted black in the "new" KM HE4 dryer I just brought home. When I was cleaning and checking it out last night, I peeped into the tube from the back and could see light all around where the fan duct and straight tube are connected. I used some foil tape as Glen mentioned. The previous gas Duet I had ran for four years on about 8-10' of 4" metal rigid duct and there was only a light coating of dust inside the lower part of the machine, barely worth using a swiffer duster on.
