Bob when you get a chance go to HD and see the set. It will blow your mind at the size. I think the price is right when you think what a commercial size of this nature would cost. B |

Mght it be cheaper to do those special large loads at a laundramat rather than buying this set for those occasional large loads?Like the mentality of buying a bush hog to do a city size lawn!? |

There was a gas model of this dryer in the scratch & dent room at the Mart the other day when we stopped there to poke around and kill a 1/2 hour or so. I saw no visible flaws in the machine, on sale for $850. It was all I could do to stop thinking about it even a couple of hours later. I wanted that sexy beast in the worst way! LOL
It's rated at 22,000 BTU input, same as most standard dryers. I checked and the electric is rated at 5300 watts, again, same as a standard machine. It would be nice if the gas version had a larger burner input. The electric version could have an option for higher wattage, like WP and KM offered. The extra input would allow the dryer to bring the load up to drying temps much faster, especially helpful if the loads are so big. 9.5 cubic feet. I was blown away with with the size, too, Brent. What a monster. I would be able to get the thing into the basement, but would have to remove the trim from the basement door and the handrail. Fatty, fatty two by four - can't get through the basement door... I had seen the LG version of the Monster washer and dryer, but the Samsung is truly a sight to behold. |

These huge machines are great for large families or people who wash queen/king-size blankets/bedspreads/comforters frequently.
Most of my loads hover in that average six-to-ten pound range, with the exception of loads of bath towels, which take up every square inch of room in the Frigidaire's 3.9 cu. ft. drum. Occasionally, when schedules get too crazy, I'll wash a huge load of mixed whites---bed linens, bath towels, and kitchen/personal whites---twice a week, rather than splitting them into four (two loads of sheets, one each of bath linens and kitchen/personal whites). Maytag, Whirlpool (4.6 cu. ft. capacity) and GE (4.8 cu. ft.) get the balance right for me: Plenty of capacity while maintaining a standard footprint that gets though doorways in nearly any home. |

Yes, 13 gallons for an 8 lbs. load on Normal. These would easily fit in our laundry room. Unfortunately, it's on the wrong continent...

In Australia they have a combo which claims it can wash 15 kg (33 lbs) of laundry. It must be the same size drum as the one in the U.S?

I was thinking of that Samsung washer/dryer as well! Been watching YouTube videos of it. It's pretty advanced with auto-dosing, an (almost) waterless condensation drying system and multiple jets spraying on the clothes even during full spin. Capacity-wise, it is most likely based on the 4.5 cu.ft. version that was sold in the US (minus the auto-dose and drying).

I saw these months ago at Sears along with the LGs 8800s. The LGs looked.more professional and had the Turbowash system and are more active in their many different tub movements and recirculation of water to the loads. Also, I dont know about the mainland but here,NOBODY services Samsung.because, like Equator, they don't repay their debts to the companies who do the repairs for them. So,that brand here.is not at all popular AND the Sears and Home Depot here refuse to sell them unless customers insist on that brand. I had an Amana washer.made by them and, even though it cleaned o.k., the final spin was.brief. Not thirteen minutes like my.LGs. Just three minutes on high. That's a bit gnarly if you ask me.

Of course you can adore it even though it is a Samsung. Even more so if you buy one. This way you can Adore it and make us a video of your adoration. Just don't talk too much in the video. Thanks Brent : ) |

Well, Samsung sells this 12kg model for "only" €1559.- in Germany.
www.samsung.com/de/consumer/home-... It's 67cm wide, so in theory there could be quite a big drum in that machine. |
