The second publication Maytag Quick Reference Part Number Index This is a wonderful reference of vintage Maytag appliances parts. It lists common parts and their related part numbers for all Maytag Appliances. Automatic washers indexes go from the 1949 model AMP (Maytag's first automatic) all the way up to 1986 models. When you have the exact part numbers, you can search on eBay and the internet to help you located the parts if they are no longer available.
Sections include: Automatic Washers - Commercial Automatic Washers - Domestic Conversion Kit - WC to WU Dishwasher Cooktop - Electric Cooktop - Gas_ Dishwashers Dishwasher Panel Charts Disposers Dryers - Commercial Dryers - Domestic Dryer Gas Control Information Laundry Center- Washer and Dryer - 81000 Microwaves Motor and External Start Switches Porta-Dryer Porta-Washer Ranges - Electric Ranges - Gas Timers - Microwaves INDEX Timers and Timer Motors - Commercial Dryers Timers and Timer Motors - Commercial Washers Timers and Timer Motors - Dishwashers Timers and Timer Motors - Domestic Dryers Timers and Timer Motors- Domestic Washers Wall Ovens - Electric Wall Ovens - Gas Wringer Washers |

I recently found a 1981 Maytag Washers and Dryers Brochure. This is the earliest brochure I've found after Maytag introduced their newly designed control panels. Its scanned and up on Automatic Ephemera if anyone wants a copy.
Question for the Maytag experts: when did Maytag change to the new control panel design was it in 1980 or 1981? CLICK HERE TO GO TO Unimatic1140's LINK |

It was the summer of 1980. Here's the July/August "Let's Talk service" issue with the roll-out! |

Those are the same vintage as my washer and dryer. This brochure and my brochure lists my washer as a 510. The washer tag says it is a 511 and the only difference I can see is I have a bleach dispenser and the 510 does not. After using them all of these 32 years I have owned them, you would have to pry them from my dead hands. I will never get rid of these machines.
