Samsung washer with a built-in sink. I'm not sure how practical this would be. The washboard sides are an interesting touch. Perhaps a home for goldfish between laundry days. $1,200.

Big!

Big! This attractive machine is so big and deep I could not lean forward over the rim and touch the bottom. I'm not sure what would happen if socks or undergarments were down at the bottom; I'm really not interested in jumping or needing a step stool to reach them. That "sink" which looks to be not too big, is actually pretty sizable and I wonder how easy it would be for someone to lift it up when it's full of water and clothing and start tipping it forward so that the water runs down into the machine...I actually thought this was a good compromise where there was no space for a utility sink. Obviously you could not abuse it like you might abuse a utility sink as the water would run directly into the machine. For people with certain types of jobs where they need to pre-soak their work clothes for an extended period of time before washing, this may work well but they would only be able to soak one day's worth of clothing at a time- e.g. one big pair of coveralls, The machine itself could hold many large pairs of coveralls.

When innovation stalls...

I think this was in some of the CES videos a few months ago. The concept isn't too new, several manufacturers have had special cycles and doo-dads for scrubbing out stubborn stains as well as a switch for running water.

The Samsung sink feels like a big attachment, perhaps rarely used, that would be an impediment to loading/unloading. Does anyone know if it's detachable? Like the GE Mini-Basket (and many filter pans, softener dispensers, etc.) it would probably end up on a shelf and eventually pitched in a few years.

Yes, this has been discussed here before. It seems this sink is a major selling point India, Malaysia and the Asian market in general. This is from Samsung Malaysia

Saw this at Lowes today. Darn, they were out of them. What a waste of time and space. There is so much plastic on them, they won't last a year. I showed them boy, bought a discontinued MT HE TL that has ever single thing I did NOT want in my next W/D! That will teach them to screw with me!

Encountered that Samsung washer at Lowes--I didn't go head-over-heels about it.

Saw (most) of a commercial for this machine on HGTV with (I believe) Dax Shepard.  Presented a scenario of frantically dealing with a child's stuffed toy, on which something had been spilled, before the child missed the item.
