This would be a nice stove…but looks like one would have to do a lot to bring it back to sparkle:

" Westinghouse Imperial 40 model CK stove for sale. Avacado green electric stove and oven. We used it last year and it works great! I haven't used the oven, but have no reason to believe it's not functional too. Decent shape for the age, I don't think it was used very much since it was in a second basement kitchen when we moved in. The chrome on the handles is showing some age, but overall its in good to very good condition. Pull out drawer for pots and pan storage. Have the original owners manual with it as well. $450 obo... call, text, or email...Thanks for looking!

Are there two bake elements in that oven or what?  If so, why?

What looked like a second bake element was the support for the plug out bake element, perhaps more than was needed.

Thanks Tom.  That's overkill for sure.  It looks just like the replacement elements used in my mom's '49 Westinghouse, and all those had were two support tabs behind the curved sections at left and right front.

The burner controls on these mid 50's Westinghouse ranges were really cool. The indicator changed color depending upon what heat setting was selected. High was red, med. high was re-orange, med. was orange, med. low was yellow, low was green and simmer was blue. Both my Mom and her sister had Westinghouse built in stove tops of this vintage. They were really great.

They're calling it "Avacodo Green", but I think it's really Mint Aqua, unless it has been repainted. I'm surprised the finish on the handles is bad; the ones on my '53 are nearly perfect, but I think they're stainless steel.
