That's a cool machine! I remember someone else on this site has/had one. Rare as hen's teeth! Hope to see more pics and/or videos soon.

This is a fun and cool looking machine. I still have 2 of the control panels for both the washer & dryer. I used a set of these where I used to live about 6 years ago for a long time.

Ooooh I love this washer!

That's awesome, Chris! I'm glad to see another one, it has to be one of the most fun Frigidaire 1-18 panels ever.

I got mine from a friend here in town that picked it up in Denver, CO a few years back and then passed it along here. My one and only Almond appliance...

Here is the timer advancing all the way around the dial, you can actually make it go from beginning to the end without any function, just for the fun of watching the timer go round.

Here is the same washer, on "tour" in my laundry room washing towels.

yea it is kinda cool and just like the vid that timer moves pretty fast and you just have to love the sound it makes. so for now its all cleaned and runnin fine so I hope it a happy machine. it had been parked on there back patio for several weeks and we have had a whole lot of big rain storms so im kinda surprised the console is not crapped out. the seller gal said two others were supposed to come get it but they never showed up so if I didn't take it they were gonna scrap it.

oh question for greg there was a link after one of the vids that shows you tinkering with the water level while it was running does that cause it to run in slow speed?

Post# 827091 , Reply# 22   6/8/2015 at 19:26 (3,216 days old) by gansky1 (Omaha, The Home of the TV Dinner!)
Water Level Speed Switch

gansky1's profile picture
Yes - when you dial below Small water level, a switch defaults the agitation speed to low. IIRC, the manual for the 2 speed 1-18 washers recommended using low agitation speed for small loads. The WEB model took away the trauma of forgetting to change the speed to low and did it automatically. No more hammering echo with that small load of socks. :-)

Dear God Chris!

This is the machine that any would pay a decent dime for. As Greg stated, washing on slow agitation best for low water level, which I am notorious for. Especially with a 1-18

Don't worry Paul, we'll stage an intervention if you get loose and start collecting WCI chest freezers.  Tell hubby not to worry, we've got his back on this one :-)

so white is like the odd color hum go figure. well its warm enough to do laundry in the garage so yea come sat were gonna do some washin yee haa. ha ha the way I figure it they can only break down so no big deal then you just fix em again. the only issue I have ever had with a 1-18 was the tub seal that lets it leak out that plastic spill thing above the rollers but that was only twice. if I remember this is like my 5th 1-18.
