Maybe someone else can identify the tag - is it LK? Washer lid looks whiter for some reason - replaced?

2) Kenmore Washer and Dryer Set - $175 (145th-Aurora Seattle area)- seattle.craigslist.org/see/app/50...

Lady Kenmore washer with gas dryer. Did a remodel and needed a stacking unit, so these have to find a new home.

Hey Gordon, isn't this the rare beast with the DA agitator and manual lint filter?

Ooohhh - that's THE set that I bought in maybe 1992/93 (new) that did NOT work out for me.  Truly, the Washer from H*ll.

Yes indeed, that is a 1981 KM washer, one of two models that year, and only these two ever, to have a DA agitator and a manual lint filter. Actually, both models are really the same, except one has an active pre-wash cycle (model 21711) and the other has the cycle in the timer but it isn't wired (model 21701). Basically a wire or two different in the harness, same timer.

These models did not remain available long as they were replaced by 1982 models that had SC filters but were otherwise the same.

I don't know how lightly these machines were used. The washer is fairly unrusted as it has a painted top, which you can see has yellowed as compared to the porcelain lid. These by now can either be rusty basket cases or pristine, depending on level of use and how much humidity there was in the area where it was installed.

The dryer though shows a lot of polish/paint wear on the drum. Two dryers currently in use in my family (mom's and one of mine) have this much drum polishing/wear, but they have been very well used for many years and not by just one person.

I have the 21701 washer....this makes me wanna dig it out.

Nice set though!!!!

Gordon
