Hi All!
It has been quite some time since I have posted, however I really need some help!
My Grandmas dryer has stopped working, and here in Melbourne Australia it is WINTER!
The machine has been very rarely used - in fact the first time this year, the machine was also plunged into a surge protector and she is the type to unplug everything from the mains when it is not being used!

Anyway the machine is an Electrolux Iron Aid model EDI97170W and when it is plugged in to the mains nothing happens - the screen does not light up and the light does not come on in the machine, I have checked the houses switch box and plunged the machine into several different power points. What should I check in the machine first?? The machine hasn't been used since last year and has sat unplugged since last year!

I'd just open the lid and check if you see any loose wires.

If not, the line filter would be next. I don't know these dryers, but on E-Lux models it usually is placed at the back of the cabinet just where the cable enters. On the machine side, you need to get proper high voltage. If there is no voltage, this needs replacement.

If it isn't that either, it most likely is a dead bord. Unlikely if it sat several months unused, but it might be the case.

And don't forget to check the plug.

If it is dead after plugging in

No lights etc, I would check pcb.

There seems to be plenty of stuff on the internet about Electrolux dryer pcb's and their repair.......
