Hello to everybody (especially the wringer washer fans!),
As some of you may already know, I'm involved with the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. As a volunteer, I recently restored one of their artifacts - a 1928 Maytag model 90 wringer washer. Well, as one project idea often leads to another, I suggested that a washhouse would be a valuable addition to the existing house museum on the site. As an out-building to the main house, the washhouse will showcase the Maytag, and provide an authentic vintage-style venue to demonstrate the process of doing laundry during the 1930s. Here is a link to the video posted on Flickr, giving a short tour and explanation of the facility. Hope you enjoy viewing it! CLICK HERE TO GO TO bradross's LINK

You've done an awesome job! Well done! You'll have to make the trip one time and see that New Dexter Quick Twin of mine - and the Easy Spin Dryer - both never used! |

Wow, You do such great work! I sure like what you have done with the wash house idea. In answer to your former question. The Dexter was in the basement, but I had a lot of old sheets, etc. in it so you may not have noticed. Have fun in England. Have a safe trip, Gary |

Thanks everybody, for your positive feedback! The great thing about this restoration project is the museum has agreed to actually demo the machine, rather than it being a static exhibit - much more fun for everybody (including me!)
I've also uploaded the video to YouTube, which doesn't cut it short like Flickr does. Here's the link... CLICK HERE TO GO TO bradross's LINK |

Have a few empty boxes of vintage Persil soap would like to send your way. Think they would make an excellent addition to your museum display as it would have been one of the "detergents" used back in the day. Well at least in Europe! *LOL* L. This post was last edited 10/26/2015 at 21:54 |
