I just tried to look at it on CL in Chattanooga & could not find it. Any ideas?

Oh well

I tried again, but no luck. I also tried every other descriptive combination I could think of to no avail. Maybe I'll find it later. Thanks for the heads up. I just purchased one from near Atlanta but I want to get a small collection so that I will have them for the remainder of my life: when one breaks down, I will pull out another!

Not that it'll be remembered, but I keep trying to help others with link problems, but...

any time a link contains a hyperlink with an "s" at the end of the http part of the url (address), remove it first by deleting it and don't allow any spaces. Then copy and paste it to the URL Link to Share box there or within the Post Text.

Nothing was wrong with the link - anyways, more importantly...

Did brainardcooper hear back from the seller? Any followups - good luck if you're chasing it.

Not Yet

I have not heard anything yet. I sent another email yesterday so hopefully I will hear back. I think I am using the correct address. I'll keep you posted.

However

However, the add does say "No Holds" so maybe they do not want to communicate with me until the date I go to Chattanooga (7/31/15) gets closer if they have not sold it by then. We will see...

Update

I have emailed the seller of this machine 3-4 times but no response. Does anyone have any ideas? I am going to Chattanooga tomorrow.

I can't understand why people advertise, For Sale items than don't respond to prospective buyers.I've had this happen too many times. Guess all you can do is mail them again and explain the situation, they didnt give a address or phone# did they...I can't remember.

Scenario #1 - People are lazy and fail to delete their ads. You are talking to air.

Scenario #2 - You call or email and they say/email that it was sold or they don't have it. I flag those each day, til the ad is gone because sometimes the ones that are not deleted are desirable items. Some are rare, so why leave the ad up? If I reached a seller who discovers I'm interested, you would think they would delete it. That they don't….it needs a flag!

Scenario #3 - I won't provide the example, but some people don't have the product. What are they doing? Having fun, like some kid making prank phone calls. I know people reply to CL for sport only, acting out an interest in the for sale item(s).

I'm sure you all have some correlative experiences. Weirdness abounds on CL, but it works well for me, usually.

Oh well

I sent another email, just in case: nothing. I am in Chattanooga now. Maybe, just maybe, he might call.

On another note, I picked up the 1-18 from Covington, GA today. They tell me it works well. However, it looks pretty rough. I just brought it down to the house/basement. That is one HEAVY SOB. There is a chip on the agitator, no cap on the agitator, the console is loose & there is white paint splattered all over the place. But, if it work, I will take care of everything else. I will run it through a cycle (hopefully) outside in the morning when the sun is out. I had to wheel it down the hill to the back of the house at 11:00 PM.

Finally

Guess who just emailed me today? The seller of the Chattanooga 1-18 sent a message today apologizing for not getting my previous notes as they had been sent to her "junk" bin. She says it is still available. Now I just have to get back to Chattanooga to get it. I told her I was still interested & if she does not sell it before I can get there, I would get it when I can.

So, there is hope!

I've had this happen with CL when I sell something - the interested buyers seem to get filtered into the spam folder on my yahoo email. BUT...

Congratulations and good luck!

Good luck, glad this might work out after all.
