These things are never nearby...anyone ?

AD: " For FREE, we have a Stromberg-Carlson Stereo High Fidelity Console. This is from the "Penthouse Series." This stereo is from 1962. The last time we used it, it worked, but it hasn't been played (or moved) in years so we can't guarantee that it works anymore.

Your Stromberg-Carlson record changer contains a special clutch that makes it completely jam-proof. In other words, the tone arm can be moved at any time, even during the change cycle, without inflicting damage.

The playing positions are as follows: 16, 33 1/3, and 45 r.p.m. recordings, and "78" for 78 r.p.m. records.

This device also plays AM/FM radio.

This device measures:
64 inches long
19 inches wide
30 inches high

Inside can accommodate up to 25 LP's. (not included)

Not only is this a fine stereo/radio player/record player, but it is a lovely piece of furniture that will complement any home décor. We are the original owners of this beautifully styled console and it has been kept in a smoke free and pet free home.

FREE!"

was still evident at this time, quality that declined in a few years and was gone by around 1970. This was one of S-Cs middling consoles, with dedicated console electronics, still vacuum tube based. Their better models featured separate integrated amps and tuners from their discrete component line, such as the ASR 433 amp, and others. This is still a very nice console and a great find for the early bird who gets it!

The ad went forever and is finally deleted.

I wonder if anyone was successful in catching this freebie?

Ahhhh, razzleberries....well, if I wasn't so lame, leaving the link out the first time around, you'd probably have it.

But I'll keep a lookout....

Ok Louis, Roger, and all. It has been a learning experience and fun on this end, thanks to many who are here or taking a vacation from aw.org.
