Has anyone taken apart the wringer head on a Maytag, E2L. I want to rebuild mine but can't seem to figure out how to pull the main shaft out of it.....also looking for parts..( the part the locks the gear into drive in the head. Move lever one way and rollers go in one direction...move lever other way and rollers go in other direction, that part seem worn and will not engage)

Thanks, new member...first post!

Bruce

Rebuilding the Wringer is a daunting task from what I understand. More complicated than any other part of the machine. You'll need a service manual, or you may be able to get a working winger head from Phil in Ovid N.Y. He rebuilds Maytag wringers.. Maybe you could swap out with him?
Let me know if you need a service manual, or Phil's contact.

Well I took it apart....not that hard.....if anyone needs help or advice in taking one apart I am happy to help them...for free.( as most people wanted to charge me of their help)...I also have photos of the unit and the parts.....can be done without a manual. No one should be afraid to open one up, just be prepared to take your time and take photos so you know how it goes back in......

Glad to know you got it done!
I'd love to see pics. What was broken and what needed to be re built ?
