plug ok. The 4th wire is for new construction or renovation that requires a ground thru neutral as I found out when I moved in my new home April this year. |

Your connections are fine, The green wires are very important and are in the correct positions.
Be very sure that the three screws are good and tight, I can't really tell from your picture, but if that is a used power cord and if there is any discoloration where the eyelets are crimped to the copper wire, go get a NEW cord.
Question, why do you have an electric dryer in Southern California. |

being located on the coast, it is often foggy and damp. My mother uses the cloths line a lot, but usually in conjuntion with the dryer. So she ends up using the dryer regardless of weather. I remember when i was a child in this same house my brother using the dryer (a Fridgidaire paired with a 118 washer) to warm his wet suit before surfing in the winter. |
