Very nice machine, I had a chance to play with one once.  Really wish I would have been able to afford to buy it at the time!

Anyway..........

Question: The ad claims 14 different cycles, yet the controls look to only give you 12.

How do you access or program cycles #13 (Super Wash-cold) & #14 (Super Wash-warm)?

Does this system allow pressing two switches at once to get these extra cycles?

Thanks,

Kevin

The POD is definitely a 1960 Lady K. I believe it worked this way:

1. Engage the Super Wash button followed immediately by the main cycle of your choice. Washer will automatically advance to the main wash cycle following the prewash.

2. The machine has a liquid-only detergent dispenser which dispenses the contents at the beginning of the main wash cycle. You could use Tide powder for the prewash, then Wisk for the main wash.

Our Model 80 had the same 12 cycles without the self-cleaning filter, detergent dispenser, or Super Wash options. Quite a bells-and-whistles washer for its day. Stunningly stylish, to boot!

There are three more toggles on right side of the console, shown on the original double-page spread but not on the single-page POD.  One handled the two choices of Super Wash.  Another set the liquid detergent dosage.  The third set liquid softener dosage.

Thanks for providing the rest of the picture, Glenn; further evidence the 1960 Lady K was a feature-packed beauty.

Also: The 'rinse' mentioned in the Super Wash cycle description is the spray rinse during spin, not a deep rinse.

I will 2nd that!   Thank you Glenn for explaining the rest of the controls!   That makes a lot more sense than what was shown in the POD.

1) A pic full pic of the top & console.

2) Details on Super Wash.

Liquid Detergent toggle has positions for dispensing 8, 6, 4, 2, 0 oz., or M for manual (2 oz. each press).

Fabric Conditioner has 4, 2, or 0 oz.

Wow, thanks for the photos above! I had it backwards: You select the main cycle first, then engage the Super Wash feature immediatly after that. Is the entire manual for the washer lurking in some old thread at AW?
