Hi all,

I was just contacted by a guy who has available a new-in-box Speed Queen Supertwin washer and dryer in avocado. I don't know much more than that, but told him I would pass along his information. You can call him at 814-591-1886 or email vjf_15825@yahoo.com . The set is located in Dubois, Pennsylvania. If nothing else, it's just neat to see another new one of these pop up!

Ted

Thank you. I have sent the seller an email. I have been looking for a Speed Queen or Maytag portable pair. I have a new Speed Queen electronic front load set and it would be cool to have the SuperTwin and matching dryer.

Well IIRC

You talked the seller of your SQ ST down from thousands to a reasonable amount. However this is a totally different kettle of fish.

Well after corresponding with the seller for a few days and an 8 hour road trip today, the Speed Queens have a new home. I've cleaned them up, but have not tested them. Any tip or things to do before trying them? There is some rust on the bottom of the washer that I will need to take care of, but I am very happy with my purchase.

How totally divine!

Toyed with the idea of going for the set as well, but this week has not been a good one appliance wise. The recent repair of the Miele and a new recent addition have left my purse rather light.

Besides am pushing far with adding new items but not getting rid of anything rule. It has been brought to my attention something has to go soon (and it must might but not what someone things it may be, *LOL*), so took a pass on the SQ set. Besides have the Hoover TT that basically sits unused so could hardly justify another twin tub purchase even NIB.

So happy for you! They look great. Someone told me to run really hot water in the tub the first time you use it...and let it sit for awhile before turning it on. I don't know if this does anything, but I did do it. Just have fun with it. Oh...the filler hose is a pain in the butt...I use a different one. I have thought about removing that aerator or whatever it is and connecting the two ends together with a connector, but haven't gotten that far.

I am glad you were able to get them.  Is the lint screen for the dryer in the back of the drum or the front?  Ohhh they are very nice.  Congrats. -A
