Oh Greg, they are just fantastic! You know what a WP/Kenmore fan I am. Really nice, and a matched set at that.Very rare.I noticed that the lid is hinged on the right side.I know the lids were changable from either side, but have never seen one hinged this way.You sure have a certain magic to finding these super vintage machines of all kinds.
Congrats!!
Rick

Greg that Kenmore pair is fine! I too have never seen a Kenmore lid hinged on the right--what a novelty! I like how it has a little cover on the bleach dispenser. Hope you have fun with it! -Steve

Those kenmores are beautiful Greg!Tell us the story of how you found them. It looks like there are two slide controls at the bottom of the washers control panel, what are they? Cool a/c too. It has the same emblem my frige has.

Greg, remember this same washer was in John's warehouse at the 2002 Convention. This was the only year I ever saw hinged on right side. What shape mechanically are they in? And that dryer!! Glad I got to see the match to this washer.

Greg, once again I am truly amazed and in awe. Nice work! Enjoy your new finds. I'm pretty sure those colored toasters were made in the 1940s. That's a very nice one indeed! I think they come in red, yellow and green, in addition to the traditional black.

Did you win the lottery and quit your job to hunt appliances? ;-) Your luck is unbelieveable - good work Greg!

Amazing finds Greg - those KMs are beautiful. Don S. has the same washer, now that was washing in lighted style! I think the lids were reversible for a time in those rounded front cabinets...interesting to see that.

Beautiful. Just Beautiful!

Nice set Greg! From the pictures, they look brand new, like they were just purchased. Their owners must have really taken good care of them. Oooo! Just love those console lights! What a great find!

'59 dryer

Is this the dryer that used a "bag" similar to a vacuum cleaner bag to catch the lint? How long did KM use that system, and did WP use it on their dyers, too?

thank you

thanks all for the compliments :), drmitch the two levers on the washer console are for suds drain or storage and the other is for infinite water level. Yes, I love that Philco emblem too on my AC like on your frig, very retro looking. Both the W&D need mechanical work. Both run, but both need work. They sure cleaned up nice though :) They dryer does use a "bag" to collect lint.

That Universal ac is awesome. There was that identical model in one of my classrooms back when I was in high school that some parent had donated. It was very quite to be so big and bulky. Can't wait for more pics of the 59 Kenmore.

cleaned before pics

hi :), I always thoroughly clean and polish my apps before posting pics ............, they are not always mint, or near mint, but the camera is also forgiving and does not show the more subtle flaws and blemishes.
