While on our beach vacation last week in the condo where my wife and I stayed was a GE GDF520PGDWW DW. It did not clean very well. The condo assoc furnished 3 Finish tabs with the red power ball. I think the Finish tabs were old. I went and purchase Cascade gel packs plus I clean out the removable filter which was clogged. It improved some but still not as clean as I've seen with other DW's. The racks in this this DW didn't hold a large amount is dishes.

We own a Whirlpool WDF750SAYB3 DW purchased April 2014 with a stainless steel tub. It cleans circles around this GE. The Whirlpool is a so much more quiet then the GE. The Whirlpool also holds more dishes. I looked at the GE's but glad we bought Whirlpool instead.

There was also a ThinTwin Whirlpool stacked washer and dryer. The dryer was taking so long to dry. The dryer exhaust was clogged under the lint filter. I got out a softball ball size lint ball of it. Drying improved very much. This is a fire disaster waiting to happen.

Don't understand why owners don't better of their appliances.

Some people are lazy, some are ignorant, some just plain old don't give a rip! Then there are the ones who are so mechanically challenged they can't even change a light bulb (hubby is almost that way...he CAN change a light bulb) so all the maintenance is done by moi. I'm always fixing things before they break...just put a new front bearing on my 17 year old GE dryer...and while I was in there I went ahead and did the rear bearings and belt...they were all original...so maybe they will last another 17 years!
