Hey all,

About a month ago, I posted a thread about getting a Speed Queen, this is about the machine that the SQ replaced.

I've been digging a little deeper into this machine, and I'm beginning to suspect that it might actually be the water pump.

What was orginally happening was the machine would make a sound like a jumbo jet taking off when going into the spin, it got worse and worse. The very last load it did, left us with a stalled tub that was filled with water. We managed to get it drained out.

After the removing the belt, the tub seems to moving at least a little, but the pump pulley doesn't feel right. Kinda tight, like something is rubbing.

So what do you guys think? The rest of the machine is good shape, no rust, just needs very deep cleaning, here's at least 6 ounces of mold, hard water buildup, fabric softner buildup in the agitator, which I have currently soaking in bleach.

The drain lines need to be flushed also.

So does the orginal problem sound like water pump?

Thanks
Art
