Hi There ~

I saw the lovely piece on Sunday Morning last week. Thought some of you good folks could help me with a search for a washing machine that is not too vintage, but getting older like me.

For years I loved my GE Washing Machine with a plastic lint tub that fit on top of the agitator (sp?). It really let me know it was catching lint instead of having it flush down the drain to cause future problems, like the washing machine I had to buy several years ago that does not contain any such feature.

Would anyone have a line on how I could purchase a refurbished GE Washing Machine with the lint basket? I've been told by local appliance folks I am chasing a pipe dream, but I hope that is not the case. I live in Rockville, MD and can look to purchase in the DC, MD or VA metropolitan area. Many thanks on any info you can provide. Enjoy.

well, it would be a bit further to NJ......but heres a matched set.....roughly 1985ish

and its a SpotScrubber.....very close to TOL......a little pricey at 300.00....

the dryer is gas, and most likely deep concave drum.....

probably from the 90's......and the last of the filterflo's......this may have a rimflo filter ring design, but nothing that can't be changed to the true agitator mount filter....

just a thought......

Check appliance Thrift-"swap shops" in your area-there has got to be some in the DC area.Since the Wash DC area has been around a very long time-there has to be some vintage machines there lurking in basements, too.look in want ad magazines!!There has to be some there to be found!!

Another thought --contact "Combo" on here-he may have a GE set or could connect you with one.He operates an applaince repair shop and museum.

GE Filter-Flow Washer

Hi Donna, I am one of the owners of Alco Appliance located in Beltsville Md. We sell and service appliances in Md. and DC area, my brother and I were both in the video clip shown on CBS Sunday Morning.

If you get in touch with me we could put your name on a list when we get in a good GE FF washer for rebuilding. Anything we sell directly to a customer would have a one year parts and labor warranty with in-home service.

I might be a little leery of just buying a used machine off Craigslist unless you are up for projects, GE FF washers have not been made for 20 years and unless you are very lucky it is fairly unlikely that you will find one that runs very long without problems.

You can check out our reputation and call if you would like more information.

Congrats again on the great Sunday Morning piece ! Before seeing that segment, I had all but given up hope of ever again finding a replacement GE Filter Flow Washing Machine. Thanks for the inspiration !!
