The plastic piece that the end of cycle bell striker attaches to on my Maytag DE808 has broken in half. I guess the plastic has gotten brittle with age. Does anyone have that part anywhere in their parts stashes that would be willing to sell to me? I really miss my chime at the and of the cycle. I run it on Permanent Press just so I can hear the continuous chime, which probably led to my striker's early demise... :(

Make one?

Out of metal? Without seeing it, it's difficult for me to say, but seems like the thing to do to ensure that it lasts.

They kind of sounded like an early doorbell. Or a few chimes off of a wind up alarm clock.

The higher end older Maytag dryers had an actual bell chime. It uses a bell like what is on old alarm clocks.
