Just joined the forum on automaticwasher.org today. Very interesting site to be a part of. Anyway,...my name is Dewey, and I'll be going by Dewey643 here on the forums.
My new Soeed Queen set has yet to be delivered, but should be here next week. Huge backlog of orders,I guess! I done a LOT of soul searching, read reviews,...not from CR,though,...and watched LOTS of youtube videos on HE machines(both top and front load),and watched a few on Speed Queen. I was most impressed with Speed Queen,as most reviews and youtube people were HIGHLY recommending Speed Queen over the new fangled HE washers. I almost bought into the HE thing until I discovered Speed Queen.
Until now,I thought you only found Speed Queens in laundromats,...boy was I wrong! I believe I made the right choice by going with Speed Queen,...the set I have ordered is replacing the Whirlpool set that was here when I bought my house nearly five years ago. I've read too many negative reviews on the HE machines, and decided I can't,...or don't want,...to trust them.

As

the annointed Patronus Speed Queen et cetera, let me welcome you to an ever growing discerning group of washaholics that place clean laundry above all else.

Marvel! at the solid construction.
Rejoice! at easy to use controls
Rest easy knowing you are the owner of a machine that is not built to satisfy shareholder value.

Congrats on your purchase. You made a wise choice.

Welcome, Dewey! Congrats and best wishes on your new Speed Queens!

I grew up not that far from you, over in Van Wert. My family used to go camping at Ouabache in the early 80s. Quite a small world!

Welcome to the club.
My sister has been using our late grandmother's 1985 Whirlpool washer as her daily driver. The washer is 30 years old and has needed only one repair, which I did for her. Unfortunately, the outer tub is rusted and leaking and she wants a new machine. She wanted a machine just like our grandmother's and I told her that there is only one brand out there like grandma's. You guessed it, Speed Queen. We went to the appliance dealer together and she bought a matching set. She's now waiting for delivery.
