The Cooktop

Is newer than the oven, but leagues ahead of the modern sealed burners sold today.

The cooktop is nothing to crow over, but that wall oven is nothing short of stunning.

Not much. In fact, they're one step away with the vestigial disadvantage of being harder to clean. I'd be surprised if any of these burners could push more than 8000 btu's. This was a cooktop sold in the '70's long after Caloric had been acquired by Raytheon and re-born as ordinary. What a tragedy.

It's as if the nation forgot how to cook during the 1960's.

I hate..

The sealed burners, the heads on the large ones are so big all the heat goes up the side of the pan and none of them will simmer worth a darn, give me the old style anyday, I don't need  15000 btu for any of the cooking I do.I don't own a wok and never stir fry anything.
