Just got a pair of machines and in the pair I got a A207S. Machine looks good except for the agitator which looks like it is missing something. Also there are hard water deposits on the tub. Any tricks on getting these cleaned off? If the agitator is wrong does anyone know of somewhere where I could get one?

I'm sort of new at this but if it's anything like mine....then it's a lint filter that sets in there...and I am not sure where to get one....sorry.

Tim

Agitator is missing two things: the lint filter and the fabric softener cup. They fit inside the open space on the top.

Here's a view of the two (please excuse the badly clogged lint filter - that's the way I received the machine).

that looks like a standard capacity machine (small, medium, large( rather than those 3 + extra large buttons. It's missing part of the fabric dispenser cup assembly. What you're looking at is the "chamber" in which the centrifuged softener drains down through when 1st spin stops. What you need is the "cradle" looking thing which allows the fabric softener cup to sit in--the top two piecs which Rich showed in his picture.

Yeah, the lint filter is probably there (can't tell for sure unless the whole thing is pulled out of the agitator), but the top part of it is partly missing. An entire filter assembly and a softener cup could be ordered from www.repairclinic.com... but just the top part of it would only be available by pulling/breaking it off another filter.

That filter/dispenser and cup are still available from Maytag, any local appliance parts dealer can get them for you. It looks like you have iron stains on the tub and agitator, Super Iron Out available at most Targets, WalMart, etc., works very well at removing these, just follow instructions on the bottle.
