I just posted a rare book to the Ephemera Library from 1957 called How to Repair Appliances. It is chock full of pictures and information of vintage washing machines and other vintage 1950's major and small appliances if anyone would like a copy.

Thanks Robert.
I just downloaded this and of course went straight to the section on dishwashers. The first picture looks like one of the original Waste King machines with that odd lower rack configuration. There is even a picture of the GE 30". I think that was called the Empress wasn't it?
This booklet will be a great read for someone like me who doesn't have the basic understanding of how so many of these appliances work especially small appliances. I have always been intimidated by them and afraid to open them for fear I'll never get them back together.
Can you imagine what a book like this would look like with today's appliances and all the electronics that have gone into them? |
