I'm just wondering what's going on here. When the Allerwash option is selected on the cottons programme, my W1 seems to go into a period of steam smoothing during the rinses?

Is that normal?
I'm assuming it's zap dust mites? I'm just not sure it's wonderful for less robust cottons? Although nothing has been damaged / wrinkled,

Any ideas what these options are supposed to do. The manual seems to imply it's only about extra thorough rinsing.

Yep.

Everything all right with that.

That's the reason why the manual says that laundry has to be dryer and iron safe for steam smoothing and\or AllergoWash.

They once had a steam phase during the extra gentle setting. Quite contradictionary, isn't it?

Yeah it is a bit. Think I'll leave that option off.
Doesn't seem too safe for T-Shirts.
