Fantastic work there Jae on a superb machine. Almost looks like it just come off the production line.as you will see from many a thread on here, those pesky Hotpoint fascias and plastic trims are really brittle and flimsy across the range. Looks like you've managed a good rescue and I've not seen that technique with the pva before so might have to give it ago.
I have a later 9544 which has the same problem with the split chassis where the dampers attach - the old dampers were shot and it had a problem with the motor which meant it went into distribute a bit too hard and that must have cracked with the extra stress. It must be a bit of a weak spot on their design. Well done on a great restoration S :) |

The flash makes the plastics look black for some reason, but you can at least see a little bit of gleam on the paint :D. |

Hey Jae!
Very nice example of a 9513 there! I love 95/93 range machines, theyre brill! I got a Hotpoint 9530A and 9510A a little while ago, a 9327A in at work and then a 9320W in at work on Monday. Like yourself, I prefer the Almond scheme, so my intention is to make the white 9320 Almond using the 9310 panels and lid, to match my 9530. Although they match as they are, the 9310 is stupidly basic...uni directional and no heat choice, but once the 9320 is reconditioned I'll have a 3rd properly matching set! Only pic I can find atm.... Congratulations Jae on a stunning restoration, it really is great to see you younger generation enjoying the "New Generation" by Hotpoint UK.
I like your detailed approach to the fascia, those things are so brittle, interesting use of the glue, never thought of that. I do like the Almond models, when they where launched in the early 80`s the shops where supplied with stands by Sschreiber kitchens to display them all on. Have had one of the Rumbelows specials years ago which is similar to yours. Keep up the great work. |
