I think my aunt had that exact top freezer model in chiffon yellow. She got a hulking new O'Keefe & Merritt range at the same time, in the same color.
I remember feeling poor thinking about our super dated 1949 Westinghouse fridge and range compared to her new deluxe stuff. It was another ten years before we got a frost free modern fridge. The range was never replaced as long as my mom was still living, but since she had become legally blind due to macular degeneration, that was a strong argument for sticking with the stove she knew and had served her so well over the decades. |
