They are the same as the GE HydroWave. I loved mine. It was basically an old school washer. Very quiet during agitation...little noisier on spin, but not bad.

The lower end model doesn't have a fabric softener dispenser and no deep rinse I believe. If you can, get the next model up that has both those options. I think you'd be happier with that one.

That design.

That design tends to eat belts, which are are not exactly easy to install. My store also sells quite a few of the mode shifter / drive tube assemblies for these (I may have the name wrong on that part). The computer boards aren't fun either.

Most of my customers like Speed Queens.

Just my 2 cents,
Dave

Your 2¢ gets my vote...

Hello,

+One on your extrapolation of GE/Hotpoint. Now.

I hate to knock so many things...but those GE/Hotpoint things are not that great "here" either.

Last 2 to 4 years on average before all you mention, and then tranny, clutches, motors...

I am not fond of low end, top loads from anyone; if I had to buy one, it would be the Maytag/Whirlpool new.

I would also suggest a Direct Drive used Whirlpool/Maytag iteration Used for a bill or so ($100) while I saved the money to buy a little higher up the ladder.

For What It's Worth,

LaVidaBoem
