I was thinking of getting a fixer upper to have on hand...need a few for rentals, and I am down to none.

Is this a decent model?

Is is likely the pump is gone?

Thanks in Advance,

LaVidaBoem

My parents have a GE dishwasher of that design.
They rather like it (yet are stuck in the mud on how it's different to load from their last one).
Performace-wise, it's quite good.
It's a bit slow....as everything is now these days with cycle times.
But it'll scrub pretty good, and quietly.
I like this current GE architecture.
I'd give it a go.
The pumps aren't too bad to change, it seems. Just two little DC motors.
Plug and play.

Which pump is bad? Neither pump motor is DC.

Well, I stand corrected.
The input on the Johnson Electric website says AC power.
But.....these things sure as heck look and sound like DC powered motors with an AC converter, possibly built in.
AND, the model number starts with DC.

I received an email within 30 seconds of contact.

Suppose to pick-up tomorrow, within 1 mile of the house here.

Update>>

Today was busy, left early AM to deliver Cabrio; and, to my surprise, customer told me that neighbors just got themselves a new FL, and had a Maytag set to sell.

I'll try to put some pics later; turned out to be a good Maytag Washer w/ dual action and a mismatched dryer-nice Roper though.

As mentioned, CL dishwasher was set for afternoon pickup; when I came in from work @ lunch; email @ 10 am saying "come get now".

Well, we played phone tag...man works out of home; said he had biz calls and couldn't do it till after 5:00pm.

Called, said on the way... he Called back...on the way to Outback with Family.

Set a time for AM PickUp.

We'll See.

Until Later,

LaVidaBoem

Update GE>>Model: GDF520PGD0BB

Well, hope all is well with everyone in the New Year...

Quick update on GE>>

Finally picked up after the floods (11 inches over 12 days).

This will be the best 20 dollars I ever spent...

What a Cheap, Flimsy, Cheap, Light, Cheap Bill of Goods>>

The dishwasher worked perfect...nothing wrong w/drain pump.
I pushed start,
It took a 2 sec dump of drain pump, twice,
I filled, (manually, but through hose supplied; and, from tap on hot water heater w/ adapter to washing machine hose>>then to dishwasher)
Water valve snapped shut after 80 seconds,... manual says between 1 to one and a half minutes,
It started washing from the lower arm only, divert valve changed to upper and middle arm,
Fifteen minutes pre-wash,
It dumped...2 short 2 second pulses, then on till empty,
Water valve opened,

It never hit another dern lick... ♠√♠

Wash Pump shot, short in armature,...would not start back at that spot.
Bench testing shows a definite drag, then does ok...stops half the time in the dead spot.

MOVING ON>>2 dish racks onto EPray...and I'll do OK...
I wouldn't even think of selling or giving this away.

You talk about a horrible smell,...not rot, and decay...
Some kind of junk dishwasher detergent...PUKE! yell

Now, to start the year right, a new Maytag Project to Add to the collection...

Thanks,
LaVidaBoem
