I think so Phil as far as TOL for 40" stoves of the time. I think by this time you could still get nice options in a stove this size. I do think it was the beginning of featured down, inflated prices for these larger stoves. Most people buying a 40 by this time needed a replacement to fit existing cabinet dimensions. Just opinion, no fact. I must admit this one does look nice not cheap like the current 40" offerings that are way overpriced.

Not that I'm interested, but just curious - are there outlets on the panel? I can't see any, but there's so much reflection(anyone?). Thanks air!

probably oven vents, not outlets. This stove came from the era right after outlets (75-76, I'd guess).

That's the smooth-top version of the Kenmore range my neighbor Ruth had until a couple years ago. Bob (Appnut) is right, its a Kelvinator based unit. Ruth never had anything good to say about hers, and celebrated when it was hauled out when her new GE arrived.
