Sad...

I'd hope they wouldn't have gone the lazy way and rebadged, was hoping they would create entirely new designs.

They've also removed the square box from the Logo, was also hoping for a proper logo redesign

The decent name of hotpoint in my opinion was lost a long time before whirlpool took over

Hotpoint

Hotpoint washers and dishwashers have been rubbish for a good 5/6 years now, however the dryers are still not too bad.
This whirlpool takeover is such a shame though cause now there's nothing good left about them all as whirlpool really were equally as bad as indesit.

Are indesit to become made by whirlpool now too?

George

Is the general...

Consensus that Whirlpool is really bad?

Reason I ask, I just bought a Whirlpool washer 4 weeks ago and it has developed 2 faults which I am awaiting engineer to confirm fault and getting a refund.

The other thing is the machine I bought was only brought to the market a few months back, and the range (8, 9 and 10kg versions) seem to have been pulled.

Despite AOs opinion to the contrary, is it because they were really that bad or is it to do with the Hotpoint buyout?

The experience with mine would indicate they were rubbish, but would appreciate if anyone has anymore knowledge on this.

The machine I got is linked below, and nearly all retailers who had them now don't.

Thanks

A question here-what will happen to Hotpoint as the GE large appliances are taken over by Haier?-least for US folks.

Whirlpool

I think they are a good budget choice. Not good, but ok for the money.

Our Super Eco 6414 washer has 3 things I hate about it.
First, sometimes, if you pause it, it will just restart the whom cycle.
Second, the 60 Cottons shot never gets above 40 degrees.
Third, due to our hard water, lime scale builds up in the pretty simple and luckily openly designed water diverter (basicly, there are 2 valves, and the 3rd chamber is filled both valves open, thus, the 2 water streams hit each other, resulting in the water filling the 3rd compartment). Thus, part of the water is diverted into the softener compartment, releasing it during the main wash.

Our WP heat pump dryer had one service call due to a broke moisture sensor, and if tangles, but over all a good dryer.

Not connected to US Hotpoint/GE, but ironically the new US Hotpoint logo is very similar. Looks more like the logo before the all caps HOTPOINT one.
